Tapped In

This article details Tapping In / Assigning Drivers to a device.

Tapping In / Assigning Drivers to a device allows you to mark a particular Device and People profile as being linked for the duration of a trip. This will allow you to search for trips and tracking data in Reports by People, and match up particular driving and alert data with a particular person.


To assign a driver, make sure that:

1. Tapped In is turned on for your account under Show All User Features , see the article Show /Hide User Features.

2. Make sure the person you wish to assign to the device has a People profile set up (How to add People and sub users).


Once the profiles are set up and the Tapped In feature is enabled, go to Devices, and then select the device you wish to assign:

Click on the Assigned Driver menu, and then click "Assign to Person":

Select the Driver you wish to Tap In to the device and click "Tap In"

The selected person is now assigned to that device. They will be automatically unassigned at the end of their next trip.

Drivers can assign themselves to devices via the above steps on the app, or by RFID readers and FOBs being set up for Drivers to sign in via swiping their FOB.
